MoneySense / Energy Best Deal



Are you having trouble managing your money? Do you finding it increasingly hard to budget and manage your ongoing bills? Have you experienced a major change in your household income? Whatever the reason, money matters can be complicated and in this day and age, it can be harder to make ends meet and avoid debt.

Here at Plymouth Citizens Advice Bureau we believe that its important everyone has the skills to budget, save and borrow with confidence. We are providing FREE group sessions that are open to all. The sessions are informal and we will be providing FREE tea and coffee while we look at:


  • How to draw up a realistic budget
  • The consequences of not paying certain debts
  • Free fact pack with money saving tips
  • The REAL cost of doorstep lenders
  • Cheapest ways to borrow money
  • Different ways to save money
  • Who can help?

We will also provide a handy reference booklet which includes energy saving tips, tips on saving money, reducing your spending and increasing your income.

Energy Best Deal


Are you paying too much for your energy bills?  Ofgem has developed Energy Best Deal with Citizens Advice to provide free and trusted advice to you on steps that can be taken now to manage down household energy bills, for example by switching tariff or payment method and by taking up help available to use energy more efficiently in the home.

The Energy Best Deal talks show how much people could save simply by switching providers, tariffs or moving off a pre-payment meter, once you have had access to clear information from a trusted source. We have seen a seven per cent rise in enquiries on fuel debt over the last 12 months. By rolling out Energy Best Deal, we hope to equip you with the information that you need to reduce your fuel bills this winter.

These couses are also aimed at frontline workers as well as the public.
