EDF Energy customers across the country given important energy debt safety-net based in Plymouth
EDF Energy and Citizens Advice have launched a joint telephone advice service for EDF Energy customers who are struggling with their energy bills.
08444 111 444
For the first time one of the ‘Big Six’ energy firms is partnering with the nation’s biggest advice giving charity to ensure that struggling EDF Energy customers have somewhere to turn and are helped out of debt. The Energy Debt Advice Service will work by allowing EDF Energy customers to call a telephone number found on all bills and get free, confidential and impartial advice on their energy debts and, importantly, any other money problems they might have.
The phones will be answered by Citizens Advice advisers based in Plymouth and following a short assessment of the customers particular circumstances, the adviser can then:
- outline information or mail out fact-sheets and self-help resources;
- assist with EDF Energy Trust online grant applications;
- transfer the call to a debt specialist for non-energy related debts;
- refer customers to their local CAB or other advice agency;
- and generally, provide tailored advice over the telephone;
Martin Lawrence, Managing Director, Energy Sourcing and Customer Supply, EDF Energy, said:
“At EDF Energy we take our responsibilities to our customers seriously and so I am very glad to announce the opening of our Energy Debt Advice Service. |
