Welcome to Plymouth Citizens Advice Bureau, a confidential and impartial advisory service for residents of Plymouth. 

The CAB can help in the following ways:-

  • Explain complicated documents that use difficult language
  • Give impartial advice on your rights and responsibilities
  • Negotiate with local authorities (creditors or bailiffs, for example)
  • Speak and write on your behalf
  • Lend a sympathetic ear

Advice4all - Spring Training Programme Released

Advice 4 All is Plymouth’s own advice network, bringing together organisations across the city that offer information and advice. Advice 4 All – or A4A as it has come to be known – has four main aims:

•    To raise standards and improve the quality of services available to the people of Plymouth
•    To work in partnership to help improve what is on offer to clients
•    To share information
•    To work together to improve policies and practices that affect the lives of Plymouth residents.

Big Energy Week

To celebrate “Big Energy Week” (BEW) this week from 16th and 21st January, we are proud to launch our monthly “Energy Best Deal” (EBD) talks.

During BEW consumer organisations, energy suppliers, switching sites and Government agencies will be working together to let consumers who are struggling with rising energy bills know about all the help that is available, the steps they can take to save money on their energy bill and ways to maximise their income.

Change of Opening Hours from Monday 5th December 2011

Please note that in response to consultation with our clients our new opening hours at Cobourg House for an initial face to face assessment will be:

Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 12 noon

Kiosk information still available:
Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 5pm.

Telephone help still available:
Monday to Friday 9 am to 5pm
Tuesday and Thursday 5pm to 8pm
Saturday 9 am to 12 noon.

Water Debt Gateway

Help is available if you have a client in debt with South West Water and the FreshStart team are here to help you find the best solution. For clients in temporary hardship and new to debt we may be able to help with short term assistance for ongoing payments or a grant to clear small debts. For clients who are renting their home and are more than 1 year in debt WaterCare/Restart may be the solution.
